Even Super Bowl Champions know how important your credit score is
February 9th, 2010 | by Admin |He may have just been crowned as a Super Bowl champion and MPV, but New Orleans Saints’ Quarterback Drew Brees knows there are important lessons to be learned off the field about protecting your credit score.
Brees led the Saints to a 31-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Miami on February 7. Winning a Super Bowl ring may have been the biggest day in his sporting life, but Brees has teamed with Visa over the past four years to teach students about financial literacy. Taking Visa’s NFL-themed Financial Football interactive game into the classroom has made an impact teaching students important financial lessons.
Brees told ESPN Gamer Blog he wishes Financial Football had been available when he was growing up. He told ESPNs Gamer Blog about the tough financial lessons he learned as a college student and the importance of financial literacy. As a college student attending Purdue, Brees said he had more than rival linebackers trying to chase him down. “I didn’t pay my cell phone bill and I had a collection agency after me,” he says. “It’s no fun and it ruins your credit for seven years.”
